June 4th is National Running Day — a day to spread the love of running to all and reaffirm your running goals. While you may not have heard of it, it’s easy to get on board with this obscure holiday. The way the National Running Day website describes this unknown day is pretty inspiring: “On this day, longtime runners reaffirm their love of running and beginners can kick off a lifetime and life-changing commitment.”
Whether you run to feel a sense of accomplishment, relieve tension, burn calories, raise money for charity or all of those reasons and more, congrats on all you’ve accomplished! Keep in mind it’s never too late to commit to a new running goal or start running.
Also, there are some running registration deals to be had today for major races and runs:
- Sign up for a race with the Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon series today and get $20 off registration. The Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon series starts at the end of this month in Seattle with race all around the country continuing well into 2015. The runs range from 5Ks to marathons to relays.
- Raise money for the Colon Cancer Alliance by participating in an “Undy Run/Walk” where runners are encouraged to run in their boxers while raising money for colon cancer research. Register for a run near you today and use code RUNDAY to save on registration fees.
